Call for sessions, working meetings, paper proposals,

and abstract submissions

The purpose of the Congress is to outline the issues of sociological study and explanations of a society in crisis with its manifestations at global, regional, national, group, and personal levels. What features are inherent in a society in crisis, what are their special characteristics corresponding with institutional and social structures, value orientations and socio-cultural practices, political and civic activities? What are the main tendencies both in crisis development of a society as well as in coping by individuals and groups with consequences of the current economic crisis in every-day life? How much sensitive is the current Sociology to numerous social issues arising in a society in crisis? What are the main epistemological problems of sociological study of a society in crisis? What is the applicability of the main concepts, theories, and research tools developed in classic and post-classic Sociology in explanation of a society in crisis?

We invite sociologists and other social scientists to take part at the Congress’ debates and to propose own contributions into wide set of discussion issues mentioned above.

Deadlines:

1.      15 April, 2013 – submission of proposals for organization of thematic sessions, master classes, round tables, special working meetings (e.g. of research committees of SAU) - see Form 1

 

2.      15 June, 2013 –publication of the preliminary Program of the thematic sessions, round tables and workshops at the SAU Congress at the SAU’s  official website.

 

3.      15 May, 2013 –abstract submissionwith the indication of the preferable session,roundtable, workshop etc. -  see Forms 2 and 3 and the preliminary list of Thematic sessions.

 

4.      10 September, 2013 –final registration of participants

 

5.      15 September, 2013 -invitations to the registered participants of the Congress.

 

Applicants of the session’s, round table’s, workshop’s  proposals are responsible for organization of the session’s (round table’s, workshop’s etc) program as a part of the general Congress program.

 

The Congress participants after registration and before the September 20, 2013 are encouraged to submit  their Congress paper  to the Congress committee which will take a decision, after peer-review of the papers,  about publication the papers in the special issue of the proceeding materials of the Congress. The issue will be published before the Congress dates.  The cost of publication in the Proceeding materials is  5 USD. per page (requirements to  the paper text for publication is seen below).

 

Congress registration feeis 30 USD. The registration will start since 15 April 15, 2013. The information about the procedure of registration will be announced additionally. The registration fee will cover the expenses for Congress organization and Congress materials.

 

The official languages are Ukrainian, Russian, and English.

We invite you to contribute in organization and providing the debates on the theory, methodology, dimensions, and perspectives for analysis of a society in crisis and to stimulate the Sociological sensitiveness to social issues through which the bridging of Sociology and a society will be developed.

Form3. requirements to  ABSTRACTS and PAPERS submitting at the Congress committee

 

Please attach an abstract (2 pages) of your presentation  to your application:  fontTimes New Roman, 12, spacing1. Margins: left– 2,5 сm, right– 1cm, top– 2 cm, bottom– 2cm. 

Please, indicate the title of the preferable session (plenary session, round table, workshop etc.), it should be given on the top of the page with abstract; the title of your presentation type with capital letters on in the next line after indication of a session; after the title, please, type  the presenter’s name and surname, his/her affiliation and e-mail.

Please, submit your abstract and  paper as an attachment to  e-mail message inMicrosoft Word editor.

1.        A  paper and abstract  are accepted in Ukrainian, Russian and English language.

2.        U.D.C code (bibliographies), (left)

3.     Last name and initials of the author/authors.

4.     Title of the article (in big letters).

5.     The abstract in Russian and Ukrainian languages (not less than 100 words) and in English (not less than 400 words).

6.     Key words of the paper.

7.     Text of the paper.

8.     Cover page: information about the author (last name, first name, patronymic, address, telephone number, fax number, e-mail, place of work, position, academic title).

9.   Title of the article and surname of the author in Ukrainian, Russian and English languages.

 

While typing a text following requirements should be fulfilled:

1.     Turn off “hyphenation”;

2.     Indent of the first line of each paragraph is made not via “Tab”, but automatically via menu Microsoft Word (Format – Paragraph – first page indent );

3.  Drawings and diagrams should be made in Microsoft Word addition - Microsoft Graph;

4.     Space between words should be not more than 1 gap; spare gaps between words are not desirable.

 

     References should be given at the end of the article in paragraph Literature in consecutive numeration order in accordance to the placement in the article. 

 

The paper should consist of not less than 11000 signs (font – Times New Roman, size – 12, interval – 1,5; one page of А4 format contains approximately 2500 signs). Please, use Menu Service – Statistics.

The author has no right to send the paper  to other editions after acception the paper by the Congress  editorial committee .

Editorial committee reserves the right to shorten the text and to edit language of the article.

Manuscripts are not reviewed or returned. Editing expertise is conducted exclusively for inner use.

The list of references is issued according to the new standard of VAK of Ukraine (see Bulletin VAK number 5, 2009)
